This article is not attempting to argue where the truest most absolute origin of a differentiation between genders came from. Instead, I am asking where modern gender roles come from, under the assumption that they are obsolete. I am asking what perpetuates modern gender roles if we live in a global context that would not naturally create them.
The comment in my article about the "reproductive arena" is attempting to address this very concern, though I do not fault you from not acknowledging it, as I did not explain it very well for the sake of brevity. I fully acknowledge that gender roles were initially based in biology, but what and/or who does it benefit to keep them around today?
